Youth Futures

Lab 385 created an inclusive, mobile-first platform that connects vulnerable youth with critical support services while empowering staff with real-time content management capabilities.

Youth Futures Website Design

Creating digital pathways
for vulnerable youth and community support

Youth Futures WA supports young people across Western Australia through homelessness services, education programs, and long-term life support. The opportunity existed to create a digital platform that would match the depth and importance of their work while serving the diverse needs of their audiences.

Mobile access was critical. Many young clients accessed the internet solely through smartphones, yet the existing digital presence was not responsive. Navigation proved difficult, service pathways remained unclear, and real-time updates were impossible. Staff found themselves reliant on external support for even the smallest content changes, a significant challenge when program availability could shift daily.

The vision extended beyond technical improvements. There was a profound opportunity to bridge the gap between the organisation's real-world impact and how that impact was represented online. Donors and supporters needed clear, authentic storytelling. Young people needed direct access to help. The platform needed to serve both groups equally while staying true to Youth Futures' mission of supporting vulnerable youth.

Digital accessibility transformed service delivery. The fully responsive mobile design ensured young people could access critical support services from any device, particularly smartphones. This fundamental shift removed barriers for vulnerable youth who previously struggled with navigation and access. The inclusive, accessible experience opened pathways to help that simply didn't exist before.
Operational efficiency revolutionised internal workflows. Staff gained complete independence in content management, updating pages and services in real time without external support. What previously required developer assistance and delays now happens instantly. This agility proves crucial when program availability shifts daily and immediate communication with vulnerable youth is essential.
Audience engagement reached new heights. With over 28,100 monthly search impressions and 1,400 average monthly clicks, the platform maintains sustained visibility and reach. Clear navigation pathways reduced confusion while increasing meaningful engagement. The streamlined donation process removed friction, improving conversion potential for supporters wanting to contribute to the mission.
Platform flexibility ensures long-term sustainability. The solution continues to deliver value with room for future growth. Built to last, the platform adapts to evolving needs while maintaining clarity, care, and consistency. Every element serves a purpose, from simplified decision-making to authentic visual storytelling that builds emotional connection. The transformation established Youth Futures WA with a digital presence that truly reflects their impact in supporting vulnerable young people across Western Australia.
