Ngarlawangga Aboriginal Corporation

Lab 385 partnered with Ngarlawangga Aboriginal Corporation to create a culturally-informed, mobile-friendly website that upholds protocols, enables internal content management, and strengthens community and stakeholder connections across Pilbara Country.

Creating a Culturally Informed
Online Presence for Community Connection

Ngarlawangga Aboriginal Corporation, the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for 6,103 km² of Pilbara Country, had a clear need to increase visibility and reduce communication barriers. Without a website, information sharing relied solely on phone and email, creating delays, limiting community access, and making stakeholder engagement harder to manage.

As an organisation responsible for land access negotiations, cultural heritage management, and broad community liaison, the absence of an online presence didn't reflect their standing or the scale of their work. They needed a platform that could be updated internally, used by community members remotely, and delivered with full respect for cultural protocols around sensitive content.

Lab 385 saw the opportunity to build a lasting digital foundation that made the organisation's work more visible, more manageable, and more accessible. All without compromising cultural care.

From Hard-to-Reach to Easy-to-Access

Online presence transformed completely. From having no digital footprint to establishing a professional website that represents the organisation's standing and work. The platform now provides visible, trusted representation of Ngarlawangga's role as the Registered Native Title Body Corporate, making their important work accessible to all stakeholders and community members.
Content management capabilities revolutionised. Where external help was once needed for every update, the team now manages content independently. Faster response times enable immediate communication of important information. The intuitive CMS means staff can confidently update content without delays, ensuring information stays current and relevant.
Cultural protocols digitally embedded with care. Previously managed offline only, cultural protocols are now respectfully integrated into the digital experience. The cultural warning system ensures visitors are guided appropriately from their first interaction. This digital respect for protocol demonstrates how technology can honour cultural requirements while improving accessibility.
Community access barriers removed permanently. Communication that once relied on phone and email only is now available 24/7 through a mobile-friendly platform. Information sharing has moved from manual processes to centralised, consistent messaging. The new website has removed long-standing barriers to communication and made Ngarlawangga's work easier to share, both within the community and with external partners. It's a platform built for clarity, ease, and cultural care that will serve the organisation for years to come.
